Stepping Up our Walk – Five Minutes on Friday with the LPD

Home » Blog » Stepping Up our Walk – Five Minutes on Friday with the LPD

Good morning friends,

You are probably familiar with the verses, And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Heb. 10:24,25).

Though we might often quote these verses, do we have a plan for how we might “spur one another on?”

All of us have those in our lives we want to help grow in their lives; their walks with Christ; their growth as leaders. They might be our children; our leadership team; our interns; our youth group; our small group.

Often, we might find that though we have the very best of intentions, we seem to lack the tools to initiate the conversations and to reach the outcomes that we believe are needed.

As a part of our district mission of, “…encouraging and resourcing our growing family churches to reflect Jesus Christ,” we are offering equipping and training to the end of, “Stepping Up Our Walk,” a COACH workshop on coaching and mentoring in our Christian walks and service as a part of our district conference on March 4,5 at White Rock Community Church.

Please see information here, and plan to join us for the workshop on Friday, March 4, celebration dinner on Friday evening and a Saturday morning conference session and meeting. Please watch for registration forms next week, and take a look at the attached information. Conference registration includes the COACH workshop, so plan to join us for this and to learn and grow with your leadership team, and other church leaders and delegates from our district.

Please remember the refugees

  • Some churches are considering partnering in sponsoring refugees, and others can partner with the Middle East Friendship Centre in North Surrey. Adel Masoud, once a Imam in Islam, and now a brother in Jesus Christ through a miracle of God’s grace, directs this centre, along with his wife, Layla. This centre serves and reaches out to immigrants from the Middle East. They offer English classes, and a variety of services, and while doing this share the Good News.

Adel believes that the Centre is well situated and equipped to reach out to the coming refugees, and welcomes our partnership with them. There are both ministry opportunities and financial needs. Adel invites us to join them in ministering to the refugees already coming to our region. There are opportunities for donations, for volunteers and for those who will step forward to minister to these people from afar.

Please see their website for more information, or call Adel at (604) 288-5588.
