Associate Pastor of Youth and Young Adults at Fort Langley Evangelical Free Church

Fort Langley Evangelical Free Church (FLEFC) is a growing, multigenerational congregation of over 300 people and is located in beautiful and historic Fort Langley, British Columbia. We are strategically located close to Trinity Western, ACTS Seminaries as well as a number of high schools and colleges. FLEFC has been established in the local community since 1972, and is affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of Canada. We are a community of people who have poured a lot of heart and soul into living life together through activities such as celebration services, children’s clubs, youth events, music, worship and fellowship times. Ultimately, we are seeking to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ and follow the call to be disciple-makers.

FLEFC is currently accepting applications for an Associate Pastor of Youth and Young Adults. Applications are to include a cover letter, resume and a two-to-three page statement outlining your philosophy of ministry.

The ministry role description and our statement of faith are attached below. Applications are to be submitted electronically by August 2 to the Search Team through the church office: associatesearch@flefc.org.

We value each child as Christ values them (Mathew 19:13-15).

The Family Ministry Intern will work with the Pastor of Family Ministry to support the vision for Hope City Kids, and assist in the execution of it. The Family Ministry Intern will develop a program for the Intermediate Children Ministry (Grades 4-8).

Wanted: Pioneer Bi-Vocational Pastors

Two churches in smaller, rural communities are seeking pastors who are able and willing to be bi-vocational.

While being bi-vocational is a necessity in terms of the current ability of the church to support a pastor, it also provides an advantage in terms of meeting and relating to the people of the community.

Necessary Strengths and Gifts:

  • Commitment to the EFCC Statement of Faith and Ethos.
  • Authentic and biblical preaching.
  • Team player.
  • Strong relational skills.
  • Self-starting pioneer – one who believes in God’s call and the power of the Gospel.
  • Ability to work as a “tentmaker,” in carpentry or other trade, or to be self-employed.

In both these communities, these churches are the primary Christian witness, and we pray that God will raise up pastors to lead and inspire these churches to realize their calling and potential in Christ.

For more information, please contact:

Rob Stewart – LPD Superintendent at 604.582-1925.
