District Superintendent

Rev. Evans Hundermark

Rev. Evans Hundermark hails from South Africa, as does his wife, Donnae. Evans is passionate about The Lord Jesus, His Word and coming alongside others to help them grow in their Christian faith. Rev. Evans and Donnae have four amazing children – Caleb, Kelsey (married to Noah), Gabby and Jodi, and Facebook is often full of pictures of their wonderful grand-daughter, Aurora-Rose.

Rev Evans began serving God by youth pastoring in South Africa 30 years ago and has served and pastored in churches in South Africa, Zimbabwe, British Columbia, and Alberta since then. Rev. Evans has a Licentiate degree (the equivalent here is a Bachelor’s degree in Theology) from five years of study at Cape Town Baptist Seminary in Cape Town, South Africa. Rev Evans has served as a Youth Pastor and Senior Pastor and served on Ministerial and District Boards in the Lower Mainland, BC, and Alberta. Rev. Evans is ordained through the Evangelical Free Church of Canada. Donnae has a diploma in nursing in South Africa, and in 2023 began a new career working for the BC Ambulance Services as a Paramedic.

Rev. Evans Hundermark was called as District Superintendent in March of 2022 and began in this role on June 1, 2022. He works Tuesday and Wednesday in the office, Thursday and Friday he is in meetings (in person or over Zoom) or preparing a sermon, and most Sundays, you will find him at a church in the district. As DS he also sits on the national Church Vitality Committee representing our 36 churches and church plants.

Josephine Papp was born and raised in the Comox and called Central EFC home while growing up. She is passionate about serving those around her in such away that they will seek the face of Jesus Christ. Josephine has served in the United States, Taiwan, Guatemala, and Canada in various roles as counsellor, missionary, English teacher, children pastor/director, and coordinator/pastoral care. She has also worked several years in management both for churches and businesses.

Josephine holds a bachelor’s degree of Arts in Christian Counselling from Louisiana Baptist University and a master’s degree of Arts in Biblical Counselling from Master's International University of Divinity. Josephine has a weakness for learning and hold multiples certificates in church planting, domestic abuse care, abuse prevention and much more. Josephine split the duties of serving our district with Rev. Evans. Her primary duties include assisting pastors through Ordination, Credentialing and Transfer of Ordination, and being a bridge between our churches and CRA and BC Societies. She monitors our district finances, helps with developing By-Laws and policies for churches, and oversees district administration and record keeping, amongst many other things!

Gerald fills an important role working with Josephine in overseeing and monitoring our finances and investments. Gerald’s vision to see the Kingdom of God grow, his wisdom and his attention to detail is deeply appreciated.

Member at Large

Josh Lok

We have not quite figured out Josh’s title yet. Church planting | discipleship are a passion for Josh and are closely related. He has a desire to see our district Pastors connected in a network of small groups that encourage, disciple, and support one another. Our hope is that out of this idea Church plants may happen that are built on a foundation of building disciples.

Josh is married to Clara and they have two children. They are presently planting a church in the Coquitlam area.

Chinese Liaison

Johnny Mak

Johnny has a business background in Alberta and was originally a Pastor in the Alliance church in Calgary. He is married to Daisy a retired pastor and member of Vancouver Chinese EFC.

Johnny represents our Chinese churches on our Board. He connects regularly with our Chinese Pastors and is both an encourager and support for them.

Youth and Younger pastors Liaison

Josiah Wall

We want to give our younger pastors (Youth Pastors, Young Adults, Children Pastors, and Worship Pastors) a greater voice on our Board and District. Josiah is going to help lead us in this by representing their voices, needs, and ministries on our Board.

Josiah is a Youth/Young Adults Pastor at Whiterock Community Church. He is married to Marti, an accountant, and loves to roast and blend his own coffees!

Island Church Liaison

Rich McAllister

Rick and Sandy live in Parksville on the Island. Rick has amazing stories about growing up on the island and pastoring in various churches and communities around the Island. An interesting fact about Rick is that he collects and builds antique and retro radios.
