What’s God Up to? A Multinational Couple to plant a Church for All Nations

What is God up to? Have you ever found yourself asking this question?

Perhaps we have asked this because we are struggling to see God’s hand in difficult circumstances we are experiencing. What is God up to in all this?
At other times, it may be because we sense that God is stirring something fresh, and we desire to discern what He is calling us to join him in doing.

Such is the case for the Steveston Project. God was birthing the seeds of a new work in the changing and growing community of Steveston – and He has invited us to join him in this work. We are thankful for the ministry of Allen and Hannah Chang, and Daniel and Joyce Chang and team in this new and innovative ministry.

This is also the case for Jorge and Emily Lin. Jorge and Emily are a unique couple who God has led to us as church planters.

Jorge was born in Argentina, to devout Buddhist parents of Taiwanese descent. His family immigrated to Canada when he was a teenager. Emily’s family is from Taiwan, and also immigrated when she was a teen.

While Emily came to faith in Christ through her Christian family, Jorge came to faith through statistics – well, kind of. God uniquely demonstrated his presence to Jorge, and through this, Jorge came to faith.

So, what is God up to with this unique Argentine/Taiwanese/Canadian couple? Why church planting a church that embraces all nations, of course!

Having being affirmed as church planters through our LPD Church Planting Assessment, Jorge and Emily are now in church planting residency at new Westminster EFC, under LPD Missionary of Church Planting Development, Steve Sharpe.

Please read the testimony and story of Jorge and Emily at the link below, and also, please consider joining their prayer and support team through our website under the “Designated Giving” Tab.
