Discipleship Tools for 2016 – Five Minutes on Friday with the LPD

Good morning friends,

What was your experience with discipleship in 2015? While many of us have various curricula for discipleship, what resources do we have for assisting disciples to overcome challenges, grow in their faith and grow as servants of Christ?

George Barna, in his recent book,  “Growing True Disciples,” poses this question:

“What would happen if we were to focus on the four out of every ten adults and one out of every three teenagers who have already asked Jesus Christ to be their Savior–and do everything we can to help them grow into inspired, unmistakable disciples of Jesus? … use their new commitments to Christ as a launching pad for a lifelong quest to become individuals who are completely sold out–emotionally, intellectually, physically, spiritually–to the Son of God?” “Ignite people’s passion for God and get out of their way.”

So, how is it going? If I might say, I hear a lot more stories of people who appear to be stuck in their faith or showing little sign of real growth. We often hear the plea that we as a church must, “grow deeper, and not just bigger!”

At our upcoming LPD Conference on March 4,5 at White Rock Community Church,  we are hoping to come alongside you and your church in providing tools for effective discipleship. While it is only God who can bring change in a person’s life, God uses timely conversations, accountability and friendships in this process. Our LPD Conference COACH workshop will be a day of equipping in coaching and mentoring tools for discipleship and service. You can register by mail or online at our LPD Website under the Pastor Resources tab.

Please see the attached information, and plan to join us for the workshop on Friday, March 4, celebration dinner on Friday evening and a Saturday morning conference session and meeting. Conference registration includes the Friday COACH workshop and participant manual, so plan to join us for this and to learn and grow with your leadership team, and other church leaders and delegates from our district.
